Prolactin

Prolactin is a hormone that affects many different hormones in the body. Prolactin is produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. It’s also known as PRL or lactogenic hormone. Prolactin is mainly used to help women produce milk after childbirth.
Prolactin is created in the front portion of the pituitary gland in your brain, as well as in the uterus, brain, breasts, prostate, adipose tissue, skin, and immune cells.
Symptoms of prolactinoma in women include:
1. Unexplained Headaches.
2. Visual Impairment.
3. Galactorrhea, or lactation outside of childbirth or nursing.
4. Abnormal growth of body and facial hair.
5. Abnormal acne.
